Knit sweater by BCBG, jeans by Seven for All Mankind, suede wedges by Merona.

It's not the best lighting and the bad hair day doesn't help, but here is my outfit. I really love this scarf because it has two different materials sewn together to create more texture.  You can also get the same look by combining a couple lighter weight scarves too.
I like the earth tones with the bright colors because it makes the color stand out a little more.  The wedge heel is also nice because it gives you a little bit of heel but is easier to walk in if you're not used to walking in heels, and is overall, more comfortable.

All for now.

Plaid shirt by Mel & Mo, jeans by Joe's Jeans, shoes by Me Too.

I'm sitting here on my friend's deck, mimosa in one hand, coffee in the other, looking out on to the vast Wenatchee Valley, while the beams of sun keep me warm from the chilled air. Birds soar and crow overhead, speaking a language I don't understand but yet it resonates with me. I feel peace on my chest, light in weight but heavy in calmness. And I reflect.

I reflect on my own words a few days back about embracing change, no matter the context. I have been bummed that my childhood home will no longer be a place I can return to, but I heard a song today, "Home is Whenever I'm with you" and it reminded me that it doesn't matter where your home is, but it matters who you're with.

Cheers to my friends and family that I hold dear and near to my heart.

Tank by Forever 21, sweater by White House Black Market, coated jeans by Rich & Skinny, leopard print heels by Kelly & Katie.

Off to Leavenworth for the first time! Oktoberfest and German chocolate here we come!! That is all.

I'm honestly not sure what the brands of any of these clothes are and I honestly don't care. Because there are more important things in life today than brands.

In reality, I locked the door to my childhood home for the last time in my life and I cried.

I cried because I can no longer walk in my house and feel memories beneath my skin with every step. I can no longer step off the porch onto the rich soil, and grab a handful (or ten...) of dew-covered blueberries. I can no longer sit in our family room and gaze into the forest while a blue heron searches for dinner or gracefully flies away into the sunset. And I can no longer hear the coyotes howl in the depth of the night.

I grew up in a home that was as close to God's country as possible without actually living in a measly tent, and I had to say goodbye to that today. I had to view the sun, peering anxiously through the oak tree, waiting for an invitation for the day to start, for the last time.  I had to drive down my gravel driveway, staring in the rear view mirror at a home that had been my home for 17 years and somehow find the words or thoughts to express that emotion. I drove away slower today. And I cried.

Those memories will sing in my mind forever and no one can take those away from me, but I mourn the loss of a dear friend today, my home of thirty years.

Blazer by BCBG, tank by Trouve, jeans by Dylan George, heels by Cole Haan.

I had a dream.  No I didn't have a dream like Martin Luther King Jr.  I didn't have a vision that was inspiring and life changing.  I had a literal dream about shopping.  I had a dream that I secretly went shopping while committing to my 365 project, hoping no one would find out...

Sure enough, in my dream, a friend approached me saying something along the lines of, "Hey, aren't you doing that 365 project?  I thought you weren't supposed to buy clothes..."  I then proceeded to tell her that it was a "gift for someone."  It was lies, all lies!!  I had been caught red-handed and didn't know how to get out of it!

I laugh at this for no other reason then yes this sucks.  It sucks that I have something that I literally HAVE to do every single day for an entire year.  It sucks that I have most likely hundreds of people that know about my project and I'm letting myself be held accountable by that.  And it sucks that if I ruin a piece of clothing, I can't replace it until the end of next August.

For example, after work yesterday, I accidentally made two giant snags in my sweater and I'm pretty sure it's no longer wearable...Or not to mention my only pair of gray jeans that I spilled coffee on.  I then used Oxy Clean to get rid of the stain and it somehow faded an area the size of China.  Not cool. Because of this project, I cannot replace those jeans.  I only have myself to "blame."

All of this to say that though I really do love doing this project on many levels, it's not all butterflies, rainbows, and roses.  Being committed to something like this takes determination, and when I checked Webster's definition, determination doesn't include the word easy.  At the moment, I'm feeling past the honeymoon phase.  Rant over.

If you're past the honeymoon phase, whether in a job or a relationship, or something you're committed to long term, how do you choose to overcome that?  Feel free to leave comments below sharing your insight, strategies, and inspirations!

Sweater by New York & Company, jeggings by Joe's Jeans, scarf by Urban Outfitters, shoes by BCBG.

Change. There's only one constant about change; it is inevitable. Change can come because of a new job or a lost job, a new family member or a lost family member, a new home or a destroyed home, moving to a new state or country and leaving your own.  Change can happen by choice, is sometimes brought upon us over time, or after $%*# hits the fan.

Inevitably, we face change.  It can bring joy, sorrow, confusion, and/or strength.  We live on.   Change resembles a forest fire.  The flames burn the dead branches and debris, and actually help new life to blossom and grow.  Ultimately, these changes, whether good or bad, strengthen our souls and the depth of who we are. Ultimately, these changes cause us to stop and think about what's important to us, our own decisions, how we treat others, what we can do differently in our own lives, or cause us to think about how these situations can open a window to help others going through/experiencing the same thing.  We live on.  And so do changes.

Embrace Strength. Embrace Change.

Shirt by Tresics, jeans by BCBG, shoes by TOMS.

And today (tonight), we will be featuring the headless Jennica.  She will be featured all week at the local circus.  Viewing tickets are $20 a pop, but worth every penny.  She can even talk without a head. It's crazy.  She even sat and had tea with her headless mannequin. They have so much in common and talked for hours.

I have to say, I don't love this exact outfit, but the gist of the outfit is that a fun pair of TOMS and a casual scarf is a quick way to get out the door looking cute without trying or taking up too much time picking out an outfit.

Cheers,

Jennica
