August has arrived whether we like it or not, and so have back-to-school commercials. I heard Kelly Rippa say the other day, "August is like the Sunday of Summer." So true! And don't get me started on all the back-to-school advertisements...I hope I never run into the people in a dark alley that started back-to-school advertising on July 15th and they better hope they don't run into me either. Kids are just getting into the swing of the summer, as are parents, and teachers are finally recuperating from the previous school year. The last thing anyone needs is a reminder that there is in fact another school year around the corner. That means parents will have to admit that their children are indeed growing up way to fast, being one grade older, and it means that teachers will have to think in general. Ok, ok, that's not true. Teachers will have to come to reality that they fotunately-but-unfortunately have a job, and can't sip coffee while watching Kelly and Michael during the week anymore. What I would give to be at that show live!

So in summary, you are not allowed to talk about school at all until August 24th, the day before I have to go back to work. ;)

This is my favorite dress ever. I know it's a little bit of a crazy print, and the funny thing is, when I first saw it, I thought it was ugly. And then I tried it on and for some reason, my mind was completely changed and I was IN LOVE with this dress. It's one of those dresses that makes me feel confident the minute I slip it on. Everybody has one of those, and those are the important dresses/clothes to keep close by. Whenever you're having a blue day, slip into your confident clothes! I'm telling you, it makes a huge difference in how your day turns out.

On another note, today is DJ's and my 3rd dating anniversary! Time flies! Without getting sappy, I'm a very lucky girl to have him in my life. He's my best friend and there is never a dull moment when he's around to say the least. Impromptu two-person dance parties in the living room, card games, tennis, singing & playing guitar, and watching Parks & Recreation are a few of my favorite things to do with my man!

DJ ~ Thanks for having the courage to bring me a vanilla latte at work three years ago and thanks for sticking by my side ever since. Love you!

In light of it being our anniversary, since DJ is such a saver, here's my advice (and his too) about $$.

Tonight I attended a Hillsboro Hops baseball game and had a blast! Unfortunately for the Hops, they didn't do so well...But let's be honest, people go to baseball games for the social aspect more than anything else right?! No offense to any hardcore baseball-goers out there! The countdown continues...#28!

Time has passed even more quickly than I imagined, and as of today I only have 29 more days left of my blog! Though I only have 29 more days, I've decided one component of wrapping up my project will be having a count down of the top 30 things I've learned in my 30th year. Whether drifting off into space contemplating life, trying to come up with something relevant to write on my blog, or simply analyzing my getup, there are many things that have sunk in this year and without getting too sappy as well as saving the good stuff for my last blog post, here goes my count down starting with #30 and #29.
