Hoodie is from Rendered Clothing, sweats by Mossimo, shoes by TOMS.

Though the students at my school have no idea - pajama day for the whole school is a reward for the teachers too!  We get to wear our cozies and not think twice!

Not only was my day great because I go to wear my cozies to school, but I also got to go to the beach with my best friend, Mr. DJ Wolf. We got there with enough time to see daylight on the beach.  As we were strolling along the beach, sand between my toes, the sun setting between the clouds, and the constant breathing of the ocean, in, out, in, out, I was mesmerized by the beauty and stillness of the moment. Leaving footprints behind, we were searching for treasures in the sand, and all of a sudden, there lay a whole sand dollar!  What a simple, yet magnificent treasure it was!  We were overjoyed.

While writing this blog, I was interested to see if there was any legend or story behind the sand dollar, and came across something that gave me chills. Legend has it that the sand dollar represents the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus!!  We found the shell on the evening of Good Friday!!

Here is a poem written by an anonymous poet, explaining the connection of Jesus' life to the sand dollar:

Our Sand Dollar!
The legend of the Sand dollar
That I would like to tell
Of the birth and death of Jesus Christ
Found in this lowly shell.

If you will examine closely,
You'll see that you find here
Four nail holes and a fifth one
Made by a Roman's spear.

On one side the Easter Lily,
It's center is the star
That appeared unto the shepherds
And led them from afar.

The Christmas Poinsettia
Etched on the other side
Reminds us of His birthday,
Our joyous Christmas tide.

Now break the center open
And here you will release
The five white doves awaiting
To spread good will and peace.

This simple little symbol,
Christ left for you and me.
To help to spread His Message
Through all eternity.
