Nelson Mandela. He lived a life of love, fought against racial oppression,  and stood firm or compromised in order to make peace and keep equality for the people of South Africa. President Jacob Zuma acknowledged the deep loss of Nelson by saying,

“His tireless struggle for freedom earned him the respect of the world. His humility, his compassion and his humanity earned him their love.”

Mandela sought and encouraged forgiveness rather than vengeance and became a symbol of peace, reconciliation and resolution. Even though he has now passed on to God knows where (literally), he has left a legacy. A legacy for us to practice peace and acceptance in all situations and stand up for what's right in the world.

Nelson left his legacy. What's yours?

"Courageous people do not fear forgiving, for the sake of peace"
