Scarf by Gap, trouser by Faisca, loafers by Me Too, mint green belt from Target

This is my semi-casual Friday outfit.  I'm really loving mint green (who doesn't?...) with a salmon orange color.  I kept my top and bottom basic, and used the scarf to add a pop of color.  I then tied in the mint with my belt.

Last night was the opening night of Portland Fashion Week.  With it being held at the Oregon Convention Center, I wasn't sure what to expect as I stepped through the double wide doors.  Megan, head of marketing for Portland Fashion Week (PFW) escorted me in to the Mapel Boutique booth.  Other shop owners and employees were busy setting up their booths to the  techno beat. Strategic lightning set the edgy, see-and-be-seen mood, and there were intermitted announcements, indicating the count down before ticket holders arrived.

After setting up, I was able to connect with gals in the booths surrounding me, and chat with guests, while watching for some fabulous PFW street style as well.  I was thrilled to meet new people and find gals who looked amazing, but were also wearing something that wasn't so crazy, no one else could try putting together a similar outfit.

If I were to sum up the styles I saw with one word, black.  Black is the new black, the old black, and the black in between.  Everyone was wearing it.  But what was amazing, was that no one style was the same as another.

See my featured fashionistas below!

Meet Denise.  I loved her style for more than one reason...first of all, RED.  She wore an awesome statement red lip, and complimented it with gorgeous red stilettos.  Need I say more.  But what I loved just as much was her silk top with the lace detailed edging.  Because of her statement red, and intricate top, styling her hair in a sleek bun finished off the outfit.  Thanks for striking a pose Denise!

Meet Carolyn.  What stuck out to me most about Carolyn's outfit was her satin blouse.  I loved the tribal print; unique, not overdone, and is allowed to stand out because  of wearing black skinnies.  I'm at a loss for words as to why her mary jane peep toe heels are the finishing touch, but the just are.  The end.

I also love that she's sporting a long necklace and handbag.  Well done Carolyn!

Meet Stephanie (left) and Dee (right).  Other than their gorgeous hair...(how do they do that??),  I love how they're sticking to the basics and workin' it!

Stephanie is going basic with a rolled-up denim button up, and black shorts.  Nothing fancy, but no need when you have a rockin' bod.

Dee is wearing a stand-out printed skirt (love the unique color combo for that style of print), and keeping it simple with a white silk blouse.  Her nude heels are perfect, because they allow the skirt to really stand out.

Thanks for sharing your style expertise ladies!

And this girl?  I don't know her name, but she is WORKIN' IT.  That dress is crazy and amazing all at the same time, and I'm pretty sure there is no event coming up soon where I could wear that dress, but maybe it's time I organize one...

Stay tuned for more PFW tomorrow night!

Ciao bellas!!

Jennica
